Finance Tips for Italian travellers

Italy is full of wonderful sights and places to see. There is also so many wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants to experience while in Italy and no doubt you will need to access your cash someway or another. Many Italian businesses will have EFTPOS and credit card terminals available where you can pay using your bank card. But beware that some small businesses will not have card facilities but request to be paid in cash instead. You may not have an ATM or bank readily available when you need to pay in cash so be prepared and get cash out when you can. Some tips when you are wanting to get cash out from an Italian bank, make sure you pay attention when your card is ejected from the ATM slot, because most Italian ATM's will have a security feature where it will suck back your card into the ATM and you won't be able to retrieve it until the bank manager or bank clerk is available to help. This is a common occurrence in Italian ATM's so make sure you are paying attention.
Most Italian ATM's will have cap of 500 euro a day that you can withdraw so keep this in mind when you need large amounts of cash. Spread the withdrawal of cash over a number of days.
